'Obesity' as the name suggests is a curse to the society. Almost two- third of the world suffers from this disease. In the present sophisticated and fashionable society there is a great demand for slim, slender, and sexy which are the standards of the society, but obesity has no place.
Many of us confuse between Obesity and Overweight. Obese and overweight is not exactly the same thing. The main difference between the two is that an obese person has a large amount of extra body fat, but an overweight person has just a few extra pounds. It is seen that people who are obese are very overweight and at risk for serious health problems.
Obesity starts when people gain weight and the body takes in more calories than it burns off. Those extra calories are stored as fat. The amount of weight gain that leads to obesity doesnt happen in a few weeks or months. It is a process by which either you gain weight or its in genes.
According to research, obesity is a state where the weight of a normal person goes to 20 percent or above ones desirable weight range. Its a condition where there is storage of excess body fat. Though accumulation of fat is an important factor for good health because it is a source of energy when the body lacks natural energy necessary to sustain life processes, and it also provides insulation and protection for various internal organs. But the accumulation of too much fat in the body leads to numerous heath-related problems.
Obesity is bad news for both body and mind. Not only does it make a person feel tired and uncomfortable, it can wear down joints and put extra stress on other parts of the body. When a person is carrying extra weight, its harder to keep up with friends, play sports, or just walk between classes at school. It is also associated with breathing problems such as asthma and sleep apnea and problems with hips and knee joints that may require surgery.
Obesity is a disease that leads to various serious problems. Numerous studies have shown that the prevalent rates of obesity have increased dramatically in the present decade and are expected to double if it is not controlled. Obesity leads to numerous diseases disease like diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and even some forms of cancer. It is an epidemic in todays society.
Everyone dreams of having a dream figure like 36-24-36. Some factors will always hunt you Fate is not in everyones side. When obesity attacks, life becomes a curse. You will face a situation when you will be afraid to face the mirror, as you will feel that you are overweight and de-shaped. Sometimes it becomes embarrassing for you to project yourselves in front of others. Everyone will look at you with sympathy and many of them will treat you as laughing stock. This thought will always bother you that you are under the clutch of obesity. In a world where slim, slender, and sexy are the standards of the society, obesity has no place. This problem will simultaneously lead me to feel inferior and caused you to envy a lot of people. Various questions will crop up in your mind.. You will start asking, why cant I face others? Or why cant I join popularity contests? Is it really because of my physical attributes, particularly my body weight and figure? Indeed, it was because I was fat, and they are not. This though will make any normal person sick and tensed.
Obesity is the net result of an excess of energy consumption over expenditure. Overeating is naturally a prominent contributor to obesity. Obesity is no doubt a serious problem but there is always a remedy to all problems. Regular exercise with proper diet helps to control obesity to a great extent.
A fully healthy diet that tastes good and is hygienically appropriate appropriate, combined with physical activity, and is the best advice for those wishing to reduce the risk of obesity and the related risk factors. So control your obesity and thereby your diseases. Obesity invites a lot of diseases. It has a lot of negative effects on an individual. One of the chief symptoms of obesity is tiredness and depression. Exercising regularly helps to control it. Doing everyday body motions like walking, tying ones shoelace and sitting down - as well as standing up - is very challenging if not difficult. One reason for this problem is that the joints of the body are exerting extra and double effort thereby producing unnecessary stress on the muscles and bones.
Believe it or not, people at a young age are just as prone to being obese as well as older people and adults. Illnesses that were once thought of to be exclusive only to adults like hypertension, disease of the liver, diabetes is also found among the youth of today.

But then when they eat too much, they are more likely to be just as obese or maintain their excessive weight. This cycle is quite vicious and it takes tremendous self-discipline to get out of this rut.
However, there are ways to battle obesity. The goal of someone who is suffering from obesity and who is trying to lose weight should not be to lose weight. The main objective should be: to eat healthy, to always think healthy and be healthy.
Practicing eating foods that are good for the health is the best way to start. Having a regular time for exercise is another. It does not have to be a rigorous program in the gym. One could easily start with walking at least thirty minutes a day, everyday.
In order to stay active, exercise daily for 30 to 60 minutes. Try to burn as much calorie as you can. Dont do too much heavy exercise. Try these activities to get moving:
1. Always try to go for a morning stroll. 2. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
3. Tackle those household chores, such as vacuuming, washing the car, or cleaning the bathroom - they all burn calories.
3. Reduce the time of watching T.V as it puts lot of calories just sitting.
4.Eating well doesnt mean dieting over and over again to lose a few pounds.
4. Stop intake of soft drinks, fruit juices, and sports drinks are loaded with sugar; instead take drink fat-free or low-fat milk or water instead. 5. Take lots and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Obesity increases a lot of diseases. Possible complications include:
· Heart disease · High blood pressure · Cancer · Diabetes · Gallbladder disease · Breathing problems · Bloating and stomach upsets · Severe psychological problems
According to research it is found that excess weight is increasing like epidemic which leads to the conclusion that obesity must be recognized and treated as a disease with fatal complications. The prevention that is mostly directed towards young generations because obese condition in children is close associated to certain high risks of developing heart disease, stroke and diabetes in later life.
