4 Steps to losing weight

1. Set a Goal Before you do anything go and speak to you local doctor or health advisor to make sure you are in good help and to get their advice. Then you need to set some targets for your weight loss. These goals have to be realistic there is no point in saying that you will lose 40kg in a day it is impossible! Use a BMI chart and speak to your doctor you can determine an ideal weight for yourself. You then need to plan to lose the weight over a set period of time. Specialists recommend that you aim to lose 1-2 pounds a week. It can be unhealthy to lose too much weight too quickly.
2. Lifesytle Once you have your plan in place you then need to change your life style not just diet. You need to cut back on the amount of food you eat each day. Maybe you say you will eat the same number of meals a day but you dont snack in between them. Also start to introduce some exercise into you day even if it is going for a walk to the shop for a paper in the morning. Every little helps and it also gets you in the habit of leaving the car at home.
3. Diet You need to change what you eat. Try to reduce the size of the portions that you have. If you are going to snack have fruit. Remember you are what you eat! Try to pick foods that are lower in calories and higher in fiber. The extra fiber will help you fell full for longer.
4. Exercise To lose weight and to keep this weight off you need to try to do about 30 minutes of exercise a day. This does not have to be too demanding for example taking the dog for a walk or going for a gentle bike ride.
