17 Potential Breast Implant Risks and Follow the Easy Way of Breast Enhancement (Part I)
by Katie White
Before any women under this plastic surgery, be aware of the following possible complications:
Risk #1: Deflation/Rupture
Deflation occurs when the saline solution leaks through an unsealed or damaged valve or through the implant shell. It can happen immediately or slowly over several days. More often, it is also discovered by the loss of size and change of shape of your breast. There is no specific timeframe for deflation to occur, it ranges from months to years. Causes of deflation include damage by surgical instruments during surgery, over- or under-filling with saline solution, capsular contracture, intense physical activities, or simply wear and tear over time. You will need additional surgery to remove and/or replace the breast implants.
Risk #2: Capsular Contracture
Capsular Contracture occurs when the scar tissue or capsule that forms around the breasts implants tighten and squeeze the breast implant. Symptoms of Capsular contracture includes mild firmness and discomfort, severe pain, distorted shape, movements of the breast implant. When this happens, you will need additional surgery to remove the capsule tissue.
Risk #3: Pain
You may experience persistent pain following breast implant surgery. Other causes of pain includes improper size, placement, surgical techniques, capsular contracture, etc. When you are in severe pain, consult your surgeon immediately.
